Why Geotagged Photos Matter More Than Surveys

Why Geotagged Photos Matter More Than Surveys

The survey-at-activation model assumes the attendee wants to stop, take five minutes, and answer questions. They don't. Response rates are typically 8 to 15% and skew heavily toward people who weren't going to convert anyway.

Geotagged photos solve three problems simultaneously: they're proof-of-execution for the brand team, they're content for the social team, and they're location data for the analytics team. One asset, three internal audiences, zero attendee friction.

The execution is simple. Every staff member runs a sampling app on their phone that auto-geotags every photo. We aim for one quality photo per 8 conversations, enough to build a library, not so many that quality drops. Photos are reviewed and tagged by event by end of shift, delivered to the brand in 48 hours.

The unlock: the photo library becomes a CRM-style asset over time. Brands that activate with us across three quarters have 5,000+ photos sorted by market, event type, and consumer demographic. That's a content engine the in-house team can pull from for a year of paid social and retail comms.
